Gift Ssebuguzi ruled out of world MX championship

Stamping authority in the FIM Motocross of African Nations (MXoAN) last year(2022) at Garuga Victoria Raceway park Uganda, Gift Malcolm Tabula Ssebuguzi out raced the fierce South African team to clinch the championship of 85cc category and booked a slot in the world junior championship that will happen this weekend 8-9th in Bucharest Romania.

However the news reaching on Hapasport desk is heartbreaking and confirm that Gift Malcolm Tabula will miss the race after arriving safely in Bucharest on Tuesday evening.

Team Uganda on arrival, they had to go for test runs and bike check since they had not traveled with their racing bikes and instead borrowed/rented.

In the process Gift overshot the jump and fractured both legs the incident that terminated him straight from the event.

This leaves team Uganda with a big dent and only the Katende brothers will have the opportunity to raise the flag in the 65cc, after Ssekamwa Larry missing out on the trip.

Larry Ssekamwa was supposed to be on the team and would race under the 65cc category but failed to secure the visa and was left behind.

“The race will start on Saturday with one qualifying heat with over 60 riders split into two groups, where only 40 riders will qualify for the main game/race on Sunday with only two heats to crown the world champions.” George Ssemakula told Hapasport online from Bucharest.
