Kenyan Jasmeet Chana stretches his championship lead with a 67 point dierence after his astonishing win in Eldoret.
Round five of the Kenyan National Rally Championship was done and dusted earlier this weekend as scheduled on the calendar.
The 5th Edition of the Eldoret Rally 2023 was flagged o earlier this morning with 14 of the 15 cars starting the event.
Eldoret Rally, initially organised by the Nanyuki Sports Club was this time organised by the Western Kenya Motor Club.
The event covered a total competitive distance of 145.20km with a total of 4 stages with each to be run twice under competition.
However, only 9 of the 14 crews made it to the last flying finish.
Jasmeet Chana alongside his co driver Ravi Chana cruised their mitsubishi EvoX fastest through the muddy stages to triumph in Eldoret.
It was a glorious rally for legendary rally driver Ian Duncan who seemed to have a smooth drive through the stages hence making it to the podium with only 4 minutes shy of Jasmeet.
Ian Duncan alongside Jaspal Matharu took the wheels of Nissan 280 Z classic car for Eldoret Rally.
The Kenyan Rally Stars put up an oustanding performance as both Jeremiah Wahome and McRae Kimathi were battling for a podium finish hence securing a fantastic 3rd and 4th position respectively.
Jeremiah Wahome still went on to win the power stage enabling him collect more extra points for his championship bid.
However, fellow team mate, Hamza Anwar who seemed to be controlling the rally after winning 4 stages lost his hopes for the win after his Mitsubishi EvoX faced mechanical issues forcing him to retire from the Rally.
Reigning Champion, Karan Patel failed to start the Rally after announcing on Friday that his Mitsubishi Evo X faced technical issues forcing him to withdraw from the event as early as
