The South African and Zambia’s NRC champion co-driven by Simon Vacy-L are prioritizing African Rally Championship ahead of ZNRC.

The Toyota Gazoo South Africa Racing sponsored team BTM opened up to Hapasport how the 2021 racing program will run, dropping Zambia’s championship focusing only at the international rally of Zambia as a lone event to tackle.

Previously Guy and Simon have been regular contenders of ZNRC under Wildcat Racing partnering with Zambia’s Zubair Essa and Kelvin Mlhanga, which might not be the case in 2021 due to a busy African championship schedule and logistics issues.

Before the covid 19 break out in March 2020, the team had expressed its desire to take on the ARC selected rounds where they participated in Bandama rally scoring the maximum 25 points. As a result of the pandemic, the calendar saw forced changes and postponements where south Africa bounced back on calendar yet Rwanda Mt Gorilla is postponed again to unknown dates.

Simon the co-driver assured Hapasport that the team is ready to tackle full ARC calendar and not skipping any.
“Looking forward to both NRC and the ARC. Its going to be a very busy season so we’re busy preparing now and making sure we have all the spares and parts we need. The team is busy packing trucks and trailers and we also currently rebuilding kelvin’s Auris S2000.”

“As far as im aware we only doing the ARC in Zambia because of the busy schedule and the movements of the car.
We are going for all due rounds if they are available(ARCs). If you want to challenge for the top step you have to make sure you prepared to go the distance.” Simon added!

To the fans and sponsors Simon applauded them with a few remarks..
“Looking forward to seeing everyone out there and getting back into the swing of things in Africa. It’s always an amazing thing racing in all these different places and meeting all our supporters in due different countries. Be sure to follow the BMT team because as the year progresses there will be some interesting developments and exciting news. And to everyone keep safe and see you all soon.

“And to the sponsors every single one of them has been amazing. Wildcat energy drink, Pembe mills, toyota gazoo racing south africa, total quartz and total excellium. They have been behind everything we’ve done and asked for and the communication is what makes this team work.”
