The new president elect of Federation of Motorsport clubs of Uganda [F.M.U] Mr Dipu Ruparelia, has vowed to restore the lost glory of Uganda’s motorsport to surpass where it was in the yesteryear’s.
In their first press conference when the team meets with Uganda Sports Press Association [USPA] held at Imperial Royal Hotel Kampala every month, Mr Dipu stressed that “we’re going to fight and put back the sport on top, our first task is to restrain the responsibility of sprint organizing rights from event promoters.”
FMU had subjected the sprint rights to Events promoters and now we want to put an end on this, Dipu said. The new secretary General Irene Blick and assistant secretary General Zziwa Earnest were in company of Mr Dipu.
Earlier the new president promised to lobby and bring back the big name sponsor companies to the game so that shareholders at least get value of their investments as they enjoy the game. Among other points mentioned is the wanting safety in the sport and this will be prioritized.
