Entering home event as a favourite winner, Ott Tanak couldn’t start the fifth stage of the day after picking two puncture on his i20 in stage.
The Estonian went off into the fields and only later drove through the spectator’s entry point to retire prematurely.
Takamoto Katsuta hit a jump hard and his co-driver Daniel Barritt suffered a back injury which forced the crew to retire before the afternoon loop.
Gus Greensmith retired the fiesta with a suspected water pump issues and kept on holding Craig Breen at the back in two stages as a result.
Oliver Solberg retired his i20 R5 in stage 3 after a bad landing…“we went over a jump and landed too hard on the front. There was a leak on the radiator and we tried to fix it but couldn’t, so we decided to retire and bring the car back to try and fix so we can restart tomorrow.” said Kalle.
Jarri Huttunen also rolled his i20 R5 in stage three to retire from the event though the crew declared ok and unhurt.
