After the withdrawal of South Africa from the FIA-African Rally Championship calendar 2020, Rwanda was supposed to organize the second round of African rally championship from 15 – 17th May.
But due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, Rwanda Automobile Federation has called off the event in adherence to government directives along with FIA the World motorsports governing body.
“We are working as a team to have new dates for Mountain Gorilla 2020, as FIA directed that all motorsports events in May should be postponed” said Eric Gakwaya.
The Zambia International rally will be next on the calendar, but the uncertainty of the Covid 19 situation leaves it in suspense.
The FIA-African Rally Championship calendar 2020 had only got done with one round; the Rallye Bandana of Ivory Coast remaining with five rounds.
