FIA Rwanda Mt Gorilla rally postponed again

Yet again the 18 – 21st March anticipated Rwanda Mt Gorilla rally has been postponed to a later date, that is to be communicated.

The postponement is as a result of the increasing number of Corona cases in Rwanda triggering a scary situation about healthy safety.

The Rwanda Automobile Club issued a press release and it reads as follow, “Monday, 01 February 2021
Considering the current global situation of COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to inform the motor-sport fraternity and the public that the second round of the 2021 African Rally Championship (Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally) which was scheduled for 18th -21st March
2021, is postponed to a later date.
We are working closely with our partners and the FIA (Fédération Internationale de Automobile) to monitor the situation and find a new date which will be communicated as soon as possible.
We remain committed to our obligation to care and protect both our teams and fans”.

Kenya now comes in equation to organize the next round as the situation is monitored in Rwanda.
The Equator rally of Kenya if staged will be the 2nd round of ARC since round one was done in 2020 in Ivory coast before the outbreak of covid 19.

South African Guy Boteril leads the table with 25 maximum points.
