Rally fans are getting very excited amid reports Manvir Baryan could be edging closer to active rallying. The three time Kenyan African Rally champion might be back sooner than expected.
Co-driven by a Scottish national Drew Sturrock, the crew last appeared in KCB by Meru Rally in 2019 where they had a horrible crash at Kibui in Nkunga forest.
The Skoda Fabia R5 was written off after this heavy horrible crash where Manvir injured his back. The crew was flown to Nairobi for further check ups and treatment though Sturrock was good to go as his driver was hospitalized for a lengthy period.
After being seeded on the national championship driver’s line up 2021, the African champion was seen in the United Arab Emirates doing training laps alongside Joey Ghose in the VW Polo R5.
Manvir as seeded for 2021 season, in the WRC Kenya safari rally will lead the local boys after WRC categories as per ASNs of KNRC.
Note; Each driver is mandated to go first on the road to rotate the top 10 first finishers by the previous season.
Sources rumours it that the champion might return with a Citroen C3 R5 and this will be the first one of its kind on the African continent. Not forgetting that Manvir was the first African to import Skoda Fabia R5 before Kabras’s Onkar Rai, Allan Martin of Namibia.
The count down has already started, Hapasport.com will reach out to the Multiple Racing Team (MRT) for more details.
