The atmosphere is really vibrating with excitement for the round two of Uganda National Rally Championship NRC as His Royal Highness William Gabula Nadiope is set to compete in the event.
The International University of East Africa [IUEA] sponsored event Jinja rally was launched earlier this week, and all is for his Highness of Busoga Kingdom Gabula Nadhiope IV to wear the racing suit and show off his skills.
The King is set to drive a Subaru N10 or Mitshubish brand (details yet to be confirmed) co-driven by a long time driver and navigator Nasser Kirunda. “The king has been training with Hassan Alwi. “It’s not a rumor, he’s ready to drive and people should come and witness his skills, Nasser told Hapasport”.
“The reason why the King came out to participate in the event, is to promote tourism since the Busoga region has many tourist sights yet motorsport in Uganda carries a huge number of fans who boost the economy in the areas where events take place”.
“We’re calling all fans to come in numbers as we emphasize safety as number one priority. The rally will be run in a reverse order starting with CRC class, 2WD next and lastly the RC2 class since the format helps in controlling safety, added Nasser Kirunda.
The event will start with scrutineering of cars on Friday 6th, then Saturday tackles two-morning sections before heading to kakindu stadium for the super special stage of two runs in the afternoon.
