The former three times Uganda National rally Champion Karim Hirji who went in sabbatical after a fatal accident in pearl of Africa Uganda rally 1999 threatens to make a comeback. Hirji who acquired a Mitsubishi Evo X R4 more than six years ago was seen testing it on Monday 6th January 2020 from Busiika Motorsports Arena and the activity indeed spoke volumes.
It’s not known whether Mr Hirji is getting ready for the Uganda national rally Championship (NRC) return or the prestigious WRC Safari Rally 2020 in Kenya due in July.
Karim is one of the few Ugandans to have participated in WRC events before being scrapped off the African continent 20 years ago and finished in 10th positions two times driving the Toyota Celica, 14th once and the best was 7th in 1994. Let’s keep eyes open and soon we’ll get the answers.
