The Kenyan rising rally star Karan Patel co-driven by Tauseef Khan proved a point over the weekend in KCB Voi rally, where the crew registered a maiden KNRC win.
Karan who made his debut in 2014 on the Kenyan rally scenes has had a number of misfortunes and frustrating results over the years, and had to put all that behind him to see victory coming his way for the very first time at home to dine with men.
The speed ace who once competed under pirelli young star project card in Junior World Rally Championship(JWRC) category, had struggled with consistency to post steady results despite switching cars.
Patel recorded his international win in Tanzania NRC round 2 and since then he has not looked back, scooping position 8 in WRC safari rally overall, coming 2nd behind country man Carl Tundo in ARC Tanzania Oryx energies rally and now a win in KNRC round 4 at home in Voi rally.
Karan beat his closest crew competitors Baldev Chager/Ravi Soni who finished 2nd, Carl flash Tundo/Tim Jessop in 3rd by 47 seconds and 1:46 seconds respectively to claim for a win of hard fought battle.
The next KNRC round 5 will come in September organized by MMC in yet to be announced region.
