After the Sikh Union Club organized round 1 of scientific autocross in January being successful, another Kenyan club the Rift Valley Motor & Sports Club in conjunction with KMSF is ready Reeve off with the epic season opener of KNRC round 1 this February.

The one-day event is scheduled for 20th February 2021 and will be staged in the Soysambu conservancy.
The Nakuru rally will be the opening round 1 of the Kenya national rally championship since the 2020 season was nullified due to the covid 19 outbreak.

Drivers who had paid for full licenses of the 2020 season will instead be compensated with a 50% deduction of the dues to be paid for the 2021 season for a fresh start.

The chairman organizing committee and event director Ajabri Ali told Hapasport that, the event is going to be scientific, and the organizers will strictly follow/ observe the protocol and directives of the ministry of health and sports.

“No spectators,…There will be a link giving live tracking and results instantly.
We urge the fans to respect the Covid-19 regulations and thank the sponsors for coming on board during this very difficult times.” Ajabri added.

He further stretched that the event is open to foreign entries though they have not received any yet.

The Nakuru rally stages will be used again in the African Rally championship round 2 (Equator rally) to come in April 24 – 25th and the WRC safari rally in June 24 – 27th.

The three stages of Soysambu, Elementaita and Sleeping Warrior will be done twice each to make 176kms competitive.
