The Kenya national rally championship will return this weekend with KCB Machakos rally, a one day event which will run in Machakos at Lisa expensive farm.
Thirty crews will be the number of competitors recorded to take part in the event come this Sunday with top cream de la cream not missing out on the 5th KNRC round as Onkar Rai continues his break.
Carl flash Tundo is still committed to the Mitsubishi Evo x in this round as Baldev Chagger makes his second appearance in the VW Polo R5 after finishing 2rd in KNRC 4 at Voi rally.
The event though will run without spectators after recording a high number of Corona cases in one day, which was 1,166 out of 9,924 tested before Tuesday as the Ministry of health stated.
“We are running the Machakos event without spectators in line with the MOH protocols to help curb the spread of Corona virus infections.
Am sorry for those who may have wanted to come and cheer on their favorite teams. But holding a rally without spectators would be the least risky way of ensuring that it does not turn out to be a super spreader” Mwawura Njuguna the KMSF general manager said.
Scrutineering will take place on Saturday at KMSC club house in Nairobi, as reconnaissance too conducted on the same day before the action in Machakos on Sunday.
