Organizers of rally Sweden are going forward with the preparations of the event despite the snow and ice uncertainty.

According to Rally Sweden CEO Olsson there is snow, ice and the roads are frozen in northen stages, Southern stages are out of snow but roads are frozen and there is no risk for the roads. Big problem is lack of snow.

However other parties are more concerned about the current conditions of the roads.

Discussion between organizers, the FIA and WRC teams has been held over the weekend during Rallye Monte-Carlo Fia will announce their decision on February 8 after following each day the progress of the weather.

Toyota and Hyundai canceled their preparations test scheduled this week.

In 2016 due to lack of snow and ice forced the cancellation of nine Special Stages prior to the start of the rally, including the opening Super Special stage and all of day three stages apart from the final Power Stage. The penultimate stage, SS20, was cancelled during the event of the 21 scheduled stages, only 12 were run.
