After the untimely death of Didier Niyokindi one of the Club Automobile du Burundi(CAB) members, the event which was supposed to run on 4-6th December was put on hold to give farewell thee to its comrade.
Negamiye Adon the event COC confirmed the event will run on the new rescheduled dates of 19-20th December, however the entries of international drivers won’t be the same as expected at first since the change of dates.
Some of the drivers who pulled out of the event are Kenyan Issa Amwari and already sent the apology letter, Uganda’s John Barrows Lumu who had promised Hapasport to go for a win and other counterparts.
“Being that the event had been drawn closer to Christmas festivals, its been one of major reasons why these teams couldn’t travel since they need mob time with their families, yet the organizers and sponsors wants the event to take place this year” Adon said.
“But we shall still have crews from DR Congo and Rwanda at least” he added.
