The Frenchman 7 time world champion Sebastien Ogier co-driven by Julien Ingrassia have done it yet again, the TGR crew started off 2021 championship in style with a win in WRC Monte Carlo with ease despite unpredictable weather to make right tire choices.
The Monte carlo win puts Ogier at a record of 8 wins in this particular event and course yet 50 WRC race wins in career as a driver.
Ogier who was signed by Toyota on a one year contract deal season for 2020, only renewed it after a covid 19 troubled year and came back in 2021 to give the yaris another shot despite winning the championship in 2020 to tally 7 cups.
Sebastien mentioned to retire when the contract expires at the end of 2021 and will all be happy and honoured to go with another championship.
Meanwhile; after the departure of Tommy Mackinnen from Toyota Gazoo Racing camp as team principal, the suitable candidate around seen by team was another Finn Jari Matti Latvala for the replacement, and made his debut as manager in Monte carlo with a fantastic and double podium win of his drivers.

After Monte carlo Toyota sits on top of the table with two drivers, Sebastien leading with 30 maxmum points and Evans Elfyn comes 2nd with 21 points.
The team still takes lead on manufacturer’s table standings with 52 points ahead of Hyundai shell Mobis and Ford M-sport.
