WRC TV crew member tested positive for coronavirus, During Rally Mexico

The person isolated himself in his hotel room after noticing the symptoms.

After confirmation of the positive test, the person is being treated by the Guanajuato state health department and remains in Mexico under their care.

According to the World rally championship official website the victim was present only in the team hotel and the WRC TV compound, which was removed from the main service park area and media centre.
WRC TV personnel, FIA, manufacturer teams and other parties who potentially came into contact with the person were advised following confirmation of the positive test.


However Mexican media have also reported one coronaVirus incident that came to light during the rally. According to the Guanajuato health authorities, the victim was from Germany a journalist who was supposed to work for a rally TV. According to the information, he had been in contact with 13 people who have been isolated.

There is no specific information on whether the cases are related.
