After frustrating results in three rounds of Malagasy championship with his Peugeot 206WRC by not crossing the last flying finish, the 18 year speed merchant Faniry Rasoamaromaka will switch to Mitsubishi Evolution x R4 in the next 4th round at Tananarive.
In NRC 1 the Peugeot couldn’t start in the morning of day 3 which forced him to retire when he was leading.
However came back stronger at vakinankaratra in NRC 2 and only to retire with a damaged radiator. After a restart in rally 2, the Peugeot caught fire though it was put off before heavy damage.
The NRC 3 at Boeny was a shocker when a broken rear wheel sent the young lad into retirement on day 2 in stage 9.
Hapasport caught up with Faniry about the Mitsubishi Evo x.
“The 206 is not working for the next rally and I will use the Evo x R4 for this rally. The car had been with us for quite some time and I’ve tried it on several occasions.”
“It’s been hear since 2010 and was the first Evolution x in Africa, my dad won the 2015 Madagascar championship with it. We’ve just upgraded it to an R4.” said Faniry.
Asked if he will stick to the Evo x and rest the Peugeot; “I don’t know…hahaha” laughed Faniry.
Faniry will be stiffly challenged by his twin brother Mika Rasoamaromaka, Mathieu Andrianjafy who is the NRC table and Fred the usual suspect come rally Tanari.
